EuroBasket: Croatia Hands Slovenia First Loss

Croatia were a match for the favoured Slovenia, who played in Zlatorog Arena packed with home crowd, even though Slovenia managed a 41:35 lead at the end of the first half.

Slovenia's best scorers were point guard Goran Dragić with 23 points and guard Domen Lorbek with 16. The host nation will play their last preliminary round game on Monday against the winless Poland.

Italy is now the only unbeaten team at Eurobasket, as they took care of Greece in the clash of best teams of Group D in Koper, winning 81:72.

In Group B in Jesenice, Bosnia-Herzegovina stayed alive with a 62:54 win against Macedonia, while Serbia took care of Latvia to earn the top spot in the group before the last day of the preliminary round on Monday.

In Group A in Ljubljana, Ukraine was finally defeated after three consecutive wins, falling to tournament favourites France, who are now on top of the group standings ahead of Ukraine as the biggest surprise of the tournament.

Russia, who were among the favourites to win the tournament but were already eliminated on Saturday, are meanwhile still without a win, as they fell to Finland today 83:86.
