Slovenia Worst EU Member in Economic Freedom Rankings
The survey for 2011 indicates Slovenia's biggest problems include excessive public administration, high taxes, labour market rigidity, excessive regulation, negative attitude to foreign investment and weak rule of law.
Slovenia is the worst placed among all EU countries (Greece is closest at 85th), in the company of Thailand, Colombia, Haiti and Morocco.
The list is compiled by a network of independent institutions. The section on Slovenia was made by Svetilnik, a free-market association promoting the ideas of economist Milton Friedman.
