According to Goran Blažič, the director of the Croatian tourism society in Slovenia, the cooperation of Slovenia's and Croatia's national tourism organisations under the slogan "Experience Croatia, Feel Slovenia" and their joint promotion on distant markets has already developed into a unique and excellent example of regional cooperation.

Karmen Novarlič of Slovenia's SPIRIT tourism and foreign investment agency also stressed that cooperation with the Croatian national organisation on markets oversees was very good and that joint work in Japan, China and Korea would continue, while they also plan to approach the Brazilian market together.

The countries and their tourist attractions will be presented together at important tourism fairs and directly at meetings of tourist service providers, trip organisers and tourist agencies.

The head of Slovenian tourist agency associations Matej Knaus meanwhile noted that both countries have recognised the extraordinary development potential of tourism for the economy and see that it was right to continue to look for new cooperation possibilities together.

Croatia and Slovenia are also important for each other's tourism markets. Croatian guests were fourth among foreign visitors in Slovenia and fifth by the number of overnight stays by foreign guests, accounting for 5.15% of all overnight stays by foreign tourists in Slovenia.

Slovenian guests meanwhile account for around 12% of all tourism revenues in Croatia and are second only to guests from Germany.

In the first eight months of 2013, over one million Slovenian guests visited Croatia, while figures for September are also looking good, according to Blažič.
