Imports Down 8% Y/Y

Slovenia's exports to other EU countries amounted to EUR 1.131bn, which accounted for 75% of all exports in August. Exports to countries outside the EU were at EUR 377.1m.

Imports from the EU amounted to EUR 1.205bn or 76.9% of all imports in August. Imports from outside the EU meanwhile stood at EUR 362.7m.

Slovenia's exports increased in the first eight months of the year, while imports were in decline. The country exported EUR 14.238bn worth of goods, which was 2% more than in the same period last year. Imports amounted to EUR 14.588bn in the first eight months, which was 1% less than in the same period of 2012.

The trade gap was at EUR 350.3m at the end of August, while the import to export ratio was at 97.6%, the Statistics Office said.
