Moscow Hosts Slovenia-Russia Business Forum
The business delegation consists mainly of companies from the Slovene Business Alliance (SBA), which represents the construction sector and developers.
The delegation also includes the Data Plan Center Team cluster representing IT companies and the TCS Slovenian Toolmaking Cluster.
The Moscow forum, which is organised by the Slovenian public agency SPIRIT, will be attended by Slovenian FM Karl Erjavec, who is in Russia for a session of the Slovenia-Russia commission for cooperation in trade, economy, science and technology.
Following the conference in the Russian capital, the Slovenian delegation will travel on to Azerbaijan for a similar forum in Baku as both Russia and Azerbaijan have been identified by the Slovenian government as markets with potential for Slovenian business.
While Russia is already a key Slovenian trade partner, ranking seventh in terms of trade with EUR 1.3bn in exchange in 2012, Azerbaijan is still mostly an untapped market, as the countries have only around EUR 10m in annual trade.
