Many top athletes have donated items for the SPORTO charity auction in the past, among them Slovenian hockey player Anže Kopitar, tennis player Roger Federer, footballer Ronaldinho and cyclist Lance Armstrong.

Maze's helmet went for EUR 4,000 more than footballer Messi's jersey, which was the best-selling item of SPORTO's auctions so far. The opening price for the helmet Maze used in competitions last season was EUR 1,500.

Maze, last year's overall World Cup winner, can also be seen in promotional videos about Slovenia's top tourist attractions launched by the Slovenian investment and tourism promotion agency SPIRIT coming out this November.

Appearing in videos is nothing new for Maze, who released her own song 'My Way Is My Decision' in the autumn of 2012. While the song came as a surprise to many, the video was well received with over 80,000 hits on YouTube in the first week alone.

Maze also features in a new educational film about skiing termed The Edge! (Na kanto!). The fill is based on the book with the same title by Sandi Murovec, the acclaimed Slovenian ski instructor and the founder of the UPS ski technique.

The film will open in Slovenia on Friday, but will also travel abroad, including to Sarajevo, Athens and the popular ski resorts of Schladming and St Moritz.
