Fmr. Diners Boss to Be Released on Record Bail
Lovše's counsel Stojan Zdolšek confirmed the court's decision but would not disclose how high the bail was set.
The 24ur.com portal quotes unofficial information that it was set at a record one million euros.
Lovše will be released once the bail is paid.
The 44-year-old is one of three suspects in an investigation of abuse of office in the case of the fallen empire around Diners Club Slovenije.
The police are looking into the circumstances of deals that allegedly led to a EUR 9m defrauding of Diners Club Slovenije, which has since lost the Diners licence.
Meanwhile, Justice Minister Senko Pličanič said while talking to the press after today's government session that he could not comment on ongoing procedures.
However he said the case seems to be unusual for Slovenia's judicial system but believes the court's decision was legal. The minister also pointed out that if someone places a bail but fails to meet the set conditions, the state collects the bail
