Animateka, primarily at home in the capital's Kinodvor cinema theatre but again also planning visits to other cities, will start with stereoscopic-3D screenings of films produced by the Canadian NFB studio.

The festival is keeping its traditional sections, which include a selection of the best films from around the world and the competition programme, which will also feature "Boles" by one of Slovenia's top animators Špela Čadež.

A novelty will be competition of European student films, while the Elephant section for younger visitors will be divided into two segments, children and youth being the first and family the second. "Koyaa: Flower", a 3D stereoscopic film by Slovenian animator Kolja Saksida, is also on the programme.

Accompanying events are planned as well, including working breakfasts, meetings with animators, concerts, workshops and lectures.

The festival will conclude with two avant-guard animated dance performances organised in cooperation with the Španski borci arts centre.

Animateka's art director Igor Prassel meanwhile announced some changes following the anniversary edition, among them a very probable rescheduling of the festival from winter to spring in 2015 in order to enable open air events and liven up the capital during this period of the year.
