Maribor to Play Sevilla in UEFA League Round of 32
Maribor will play their first match in the round of 32 at home on 20 February 2014, while the return match with the two-time UEFA Cup champions is scheduled a week later in Seville.
Maribor qualified for the second stage of the UEFA Europe League for the first time in club history by defeating Wigan Athletic of England at home last week to take second place in the qualifying Group D.
It is Maribor's second biggest success in European competitions, following the qualification to the UEFA Champions League in the 1999/2000 season.
Sevilla FC meanwhile enters the knock-out stage as the winner of the Group H. The club won two consecutive UEFA Cups (2006 and 2007) and finished last season in Spanish La Liga at the 9th place.
"The opponent is attractive, they won the UEFA Cup twice, they have some excellent players in the team. Sevilla means something in Europe, it has already achieved a lot," Maribor head coach Ante Šimundža commented on the draw.
