A deficit of almost EUR 183m was recorded in November alone, the highest monthly shortfall since June, when it stood at close to EUR 134m, but bellow monthly deficits in excess of EUR 200m before that.

Budget expenditure amounted to EUR 800m in November, totalling EUR 8.4bn in the first 11 months of the year. Revenue stood at EUR 621m in November and EUR 6.8bn since the beginning of the year.

By the end of November, the deficit had already exceeded the EUR 1.55bn shortfall planned for the year in the supplementary budget passed in July.

Still, the Finance Ministry plans to keep the deficit within the amount planned in the supplementary budget.

The government plans to reduce the budget deficit to EUR 1bn in 2014 and to EUR 860m in 2015, according to budget documents passed by parliament.
