The Thermana Laško Congress Centre Hosted the 11th Conference of Slovenian Electrical Power Engineers From 27 - 29 May 2013, Thermana Laško hosted the 11th Conference of Slovenian Electrical Power Engineers where a record number of 249 papers were delivered. Over 400 lecturers and debaters, divided into 21 study committees, discussed the most burning issues for the development and functioning of the electrical systems in Slovenia and worldwide. Mr Andre Merlin, Chairman of the Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE), from Paris, France and Mr Herbert Haidvogel, Chairman of the International Conference on Electricity Distribution (CIRED) from Vienna, Austria, also attended the conference. The conference's honorary patron was Mr Borut Pahor, President of the Republic of Slovenia. At the opening of the conference awards were presented to meritorious electrical power engineers.

Mr Krešimir Bakič, Chairman of the Slovenian Committee CIGRÉ-CIRED and the first Chairman of SEERC (South East European Region of CIGRE) said: "The conference at the Thermana Laško Congress Centre was very successful. Not only because of an incredibly large number of professional contributions and quality discussions as well as an outstanding exhibition of products and services for the electrical sector, but also because of the remarkable support at this truly beautiful Congress Centre. As the conference's organisers we received a lot of compliments from the participants, who emphasised the outstanding conditions, beautiful congress rooms and good technical equipment. In summary, the conference ran like clockwork."
