Van Rompuy Visiting Slovenia
Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek will be Van Rompuy's host, while the European Council's first full-time president is also to meet President Borut Pahor and Parliament Speaker Janko Veber during what will be his sixth visit the country.
Van Rompuy will moreover hold a meeting with students of the Ljubljana Law Faculty to debate the future of Europe, his office has told the STA.
The talks with Bratušek are expected to focus on the next EU summit, where EU leaders will debate the European semester, industrial policy, energy and the environment, as well as the situation in Slovenia.
Unofficially the PM can expect to be called on to continue implementing structural reforms and pursue the fiscal goals set.
The EU issued nine recommendations to Slovenia last year, noting a need to fix the banks, continue with privatisation, address excessive real sector debt, continue with fiscal consolidation, improve competitiveness and pursue further pension and labour market reform.
