British International School of Ljubljana appoints new Principal

The school, founded in 2008, is the leading international school in Slovenia and is recognised as a quality British School Overseas by the UK Government. It offers IGCSE and A Level qualifications which allow its students to access top-rated universities across the world. Mr Cooksey, who completed his teacher training at the University of Cambridge, has over 20 years' experience of teaching in schools in the UK and the Middle East and came to Ljubljana in August 2013 from his previous position of Deputy Head of the New English School in Amman, Jordan. He is passionate about ensuring that every student at the school is given the opportunity to excel. "The British International School of Ljubljana was founded by Jeremy Hibbins to provide a high-quality international education to the young people of Slovenia. I have no doubt that our school offers a real opportunity for Slovenian students to experience world class education and to have the opportunity to study at the best universities in the world." Mr Cooksey said.

Mr Cooksey, his staff and students are looking forward to welcoming potential students and their parents during the Information Days (Informativni dnevi) to explain the courses on offer and how an education at the British International School of Ljubljana can improve a young person's chances of acceptance into the best universities in the world. These will be held on Friday 14 February at 10:00 and 15:00, and on Saturday 15 February at 10:00 at the BISL premises on Podmilščakova ulica 24, Ljubljana.
