The daily route between Ljubljana's Jože Pučnik Airport and Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport was launched on 10 December.

As a strategic partner of Etihad Airways from United Arab Emirates, Air Serbia offers a link to the east and is to contribute greatly to the planned passenger number growth at the Ljubljana airport.

The agreement, under which Adria Airways will market the flights under its brand, will enter into force on 17 February, according to Friday's press release from Adria Airways.

CEO Mark Anžur said that the code share agreement "confirms the good business relations between the airlines".

According to him, Adria Airways expects that the cooperation will be expanded to a number of other interesting destinations in the summer months.

Air Serbia was established in October as the successor to Jat Aiways, in which Etihad Airways bought a 49% share earlier this year.

The airline uses an ATR72 twin-engine turboprop plane for the flights between Ljubljana and Belgrade and Airbus A319 planes for routes continuing from Belgrade.
