Dragić, who led Slovenia to the fifth pace at the September EuroBasket in Slovenia and made the all-tournament team, joins France's Tony Parker, Greece's Vasilis Spanulis, Spain's Marc Gasol and Croatia's Bojan Bogdanović among the top 5.

The Slovenian received 20,960 fan votes and 157 expert votes in the voting conducted by FIBA Europe. He is third in terms of fans vote only, behind the overall winner Parker and Bogdanović.

Dragić is currently the best player of the Phoenix Suns of the NBA, which is considered the most surprising team in the current season. He has also received significant consideration for playing in the annual All Stars exhibition game this weekend, narrowly missing the cut.

The 27-year-old Slovenian is averaging a career-high 20.1 points per game to go along 6 assists and almost 3 rebounds per game.

Dragić will lead the Slovenian national team at this year's World Championships in Spain, where Slovenia will play in the group comprising also Lithuania, Angola, South Korea, Mexico and Australia.
