She is up against German footballer Nadine Angerer, US swimmer Missy Franklin, Jamaican track-and-field star Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce, Russian pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva, and US tennis player Serena Williams (more about rewards on https://www.laureus.com/awards).

Maze, who won the downhill and giant slalom golds in Sochi, is nominated for her achievements in 2013, when she won the overall Alpine Skiing World Cup and the Super G world title and broke the all-time record with her World Cup points tally.

The award, conferred by the Laureus World Sports Academy, will be handed out in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 26 March.
