After the highly appreciated Mountain Film Festival a few days ago, the next international film festival is not too far away. The 6th Ljubljana International Short Film Festival is scheduled for next week, from the 11th to the 13th of March.

Taking place in the city's centre for alternative culture Metelkova, the festival is showing 61 short films from all over the place, every day from 5 pm to 11 pm. Klub Gromka, the venue in Metelkova will show a wide selection of films from with focuses on Austria, Norway, Poland and the Balkans. All films will be screened in original languages with English subtitles. The festival does not appear on billboards. However, it offers a range of fiction, documentary, experimental and animation films.

The festival, whose history started in 2009, will also hit the road after the 18 hours of screenings in Ljubljana. They are planning stops in Tirana (Albania), Belgrade (Serbia), Oslo (Norway) and Budapest (Hungary).

Because of partners like the Austrian Ministry of Culture and the Norwegian Embassy, it is possible that visitors and cinephiles can enter the presentations for free. It is imprortant to say, that LISFF is a low-budget and non-commercial festival, which wants to give the guests the opportunity to meet and watch short films, without being limited to the time of a "normal" film.
