According to Erjavec, Slovenia could be a part of the group of EU countries to take part in political dialogue which would aim to solve the crisis, since the country has no political interest in the hot spot.

"We offered our services in the sense of moderating a political dialogue. John Kerry thanked me for our subtlety and understanding the severity of the situation," Erjavec said after the meeting.

Erjavec talked to Lavrov about the situation in the Ukrainian autonomous region of Crimea and commented: "It is very serious but I could decipher from our talk that Russia wishes to resolve this through a political dialogue, not by straining the relations".
