Slovenia and Spain Want Stronger Cooperation
Garcia-Margallo will hold talks with Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec in Brdo pri Kranju on Monday. He will be received by President Borut Pahor, Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek and Parliamentary Speaker Janko Veber on Tuesday.
Talks in Brdo pri Kranju are expected to touch on current international and EU issues, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
The head of the Spanish diplomacy will also open on Tuesday the third regional seminar on mediation in the Mediterranean and take part in a meeting of Spanish and Slovenian business representatives at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Slovenia and Spain have no open issues, while political relations have not been very intensive over the past few years. Trade has dipped slightly of late, amounting to EUR 610m in 2012, of which Slovenian exports accounted for EUR 211m.
