Grand Budapest Hotel screened in Grand Hotel Union

The film tells a story of the 20th century, accompanying the hotel through three different historical eras: the belle epoque, the time of occupation and the second world war and the communist era. And of course, director Wes Anderson does not only tell the story of the hotel, but also of the people who work and live in it: of the staff, the concierge, the extraordinary and sometimes complicated guests.

It recounts the adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend. The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting and the battle for an enormous family fortune - all against the back-drop of a suddenly and dramatically changing continent.

The movie is a timeless story of friendship, honour and love, recalling the great tradition of the classic hollywood comedies of the 30's. And a whole armada of Hollywood stars are taking part in this masterpiece: Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Jude Law, Adrien Brody and William Dafoe are just a few names.

Typically stylish but deceptively thoughtful, The Grand Budapest Hotel finds Wes Anderson once again using ornate visual environments to explore deeply emotional ideas.

The movie will be screened today at 8 pm as an avant-premiere in Ljubljana's Grand Hotel Union, there are still same tickets left for sale. From 27th of March, The Grand Budapest Hotel can be seen in the city cinema Kinodvor.
