Consumer Confidence Up Third Consecutive Month

The third consecutive increase comes after confidence among consumers climbed 3 pp in January and 1 pp in February. March confidence was however 1 pp lower year-on-year. It was also 5 pp higher than the 2013 average.

The index measuring the people's expectations about the country's economy was up 6% in March. The index is also 11 pp higher than last year's average, but 1 pp lower year-on-year.

When asked about their expectations for Slovenian economy in the next 12 months, 22% of the respondents said they expect it to improve, 28% said that it would remain level, while 26% believe things would turn for the worse and 22% believe it would get much worse.
