The Commission also expects the Slovenian government to brief it on its plans regarding the budget, the spokesperson for the European commissioner for economic and monetary affairs Simon O'Connor told the STA on Friday.

"We will analyse Slovenia's updated fiscal plans, which will be set out in the Stability Programme to be submitted next month, in the context of the European Semester in the spring," he said.

The Commission cleared Slovenia's national budget for 2014 as being in line with EU rules in last November, while warning that it contained no wiggle room in case of unexpected developments.
