Czech President in Slovenia on First Official Visit

The Czech president, who will remain in Slovenia for two days, will also talk about the future of Europe at the Ljubljana Social Sciences Faculty alongside Pahor. The presidents will also hold a joint press conference at 1 PM.

Pahor's office said before the visit that Slovenia and the Czech Republic will examine possibilities for upgrading economic cooperation, while the presidents will discuss topical international and regional issues regarding the EU and NATO.

Zeman will be accompanied in Slovenia by spouse Ivana Zemanova.

Zermanova and Pahor's partner Tanja Pečar will visit architect Jože Plečik's House in the Ljubljana borough of Trnovo and the National and University Library, which was designed by Plečnik in the early 1930s.

Zeman and his wife will spend Friday morning in the seaside own of Piran and then return to Ljubljana to lay a wreath at the grave of Plečnik, who taught in Prague in the early 20th century and renovated Prague Castle.
