It said that the crisis in Ukraine could only be resolved in a peaceful manner and through dialogue.

"In this context we welcome yesterday's meeting in Geneva and call for a continuation of the search for a political solution," the ministry wrote.

The press release stresses that the ministry, Slovenia and the EU are continuing with efforts, both bilateral and multilateral, to calm tensions and improve Ukraine's economic, financial and political stability.

Slovenia remains committed to a united, territorially integral and sovereign Ukraine, the ministry wrote.
