A total of 10,299 people visited the Postojna cave alone over the Easter weekend, among which over a third were of Italian nationality.

Surprisingly, over one thousand of South Koreans came to the cave, which is home to the endemic olm, the largest troglodyte amphibian in the world.

The Postojna cave operator also said that the visitors over the Easter holidays came from all over Europe as well as some more distant countries including Bolivia, Kenya, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and India. Almost a quarter of visitors were non-European.

A good turnout is also expected for the following days, the Postojna cave operator also said in a press release.
