Slovenia in Focus at OECD Forum 2014

Nekategorizirano

The outgoing prime minister will address the forum with OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurria and chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers Jason Furman.

The Slovenian delegation will moreover meet the OECD leaders to discuss the organisation's latest report on the situation in Slovenia and its recommendations for further measures.

The meeting comes a day before the OECD is to publish its spring economic forecasts for 34 member countries.

Following positive feedback regarding Slovenia's economy from international institutions, it is expected that the organisation will upgrade its November forecast, which projected that Slovenia's GDP would shrink by 0.9% this year and grow by 0.3% in 2015.

Meanwhile, the OECD will most likely stick to its recommendations regarding the consolidation of public finances, privatisation, deleveraging of companies, shoring-up of the banking system and the adoption of structural reforms.

Apart from that, BratuĊĦek is to meet Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Tuesday, and the Slovenian delegation is to attend a reception held by French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius to mark the tenth anniversary of the enlargement of the EU.
