Third Time Lucky for Slovenia at Eurosong
The 20th musician to represent Slovenia at the Eurovision song contest made it to the finals along with the representatives of Austria, Belarus, Greece, Finland, Malta, Norway, Poland, Switzerland and Romania.
Saturday's finals at at Copenhagen's B&W Hallerne hall will also feature the top ten songs from the first semi-finals on Tuesday - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Iceland, Montenegro, Russia, San Marino, Sweden, the Netherlands and Ukraine.
Kovač sang the song in English with support vocalists Nika Zorjan, Lea Sirk, Manca Špik and Raay.
"Round and Round" was co-written by Kovač and Hannah Mancini, Slovenia's representative at last year's Eurosong.
Kovač, at 35-year-old a veteran of the Slovenian pop scene, debuted in a kids show at the age of nine. She released her first album "Ne odhajaj poletje" in 1997, which she has followed up with seven more studio albums.
Kovač has worked with a number of international musicians including Ian Anderson and his band Jethro Tull.
She achieved formal music education as a professor with a degree in flute at the Giuseppe Tartini Conservatory in Trieste.
