The visit has been announced by the Slovenian Consulate General in Cleveland and the Slovenian American Business Association (SABA), which are organising the mission in cooperation with the American Chamber of Commerce in Slovenia (AmCham).

After a welcome by the Mayor of Cleveland Frank Jackson, the delegation will meet SABA officials for talks in the city that is home to the biggest Slovenian community in the US.

The mission will continue in Akron, where the delegation will be received by Mayor Don Plusquellic, visit the Innovation Center and the regional chamber of commerce and meet officials from companies such as Goodyear.

Later in the week the delegation will visit Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where the premises of the Slovenian honorary consulate headed by Petra Mitchell will be inaugurated on Thursday. The delegation is also due to visit the headquarters of the corporation Westinghouse.

Slovenian Ambassador to the US Božo Cerar has expressed his belief that the business delegation will help boost ties between companies in Slovenia and the US. "Ohio and Pennsylvania are especially important federal states because the most Slovenians immigrated there in search of work and a better life", he said.

The business delegation visiting the US comprises officials from companies Avbreht & Zajc, Creatoorlabs, Doctrina, D-IMEX, Donar, Fibmarkt, Insol, Kolektor Etra, MZK Elektro, Numip, SMM, Talum, Tecos and TKK Srpenica.
