Eurosong: Tinkara Kovač Settles for 25th Spot
Only third Slovenian entrant to make it to the finals since the two-round system was introduced in 2004, Kovač only got points from Montenegro (8) and Macedonia (1).
The country's best place ever since it joined the competition as an independent country in 1993 was 7th spot of Darja Švajger in 1995, which was matched by Nuša Derenda in 2001.
Talent star Maja Keuc took 13th place in 2011, and opera singer Alenka Gotar clinched 15th in 2007.
Kovač, a 35-year-old Slovenian pop music scene veteran, released her first album "Ne odhajaj poletje" in 1997, which she has followed up with seven more studio albums.
A formally educated flautist, Kovač has worked with a number of internationally renowned musicians, including Ian Anderson and his band Jethro Tull and Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin.
