Presenting the line-up that will serve as a warm-up partner for Argentina and Uruguay as the two nations prepare for the FIFA World Cup in Brazil, Katanec said it was an honour to play against the two football powerhouses.

Slovenia is dealing with a series of injuries to key players, including Valter Birsa and Tim Matavž, which forced Katanec to call up youngsters Erik Janža from Domžale and Rajko Rotman from Rudar Velenje.

Despite the injury worries, Slovenia is looking forward to the challenge of playing Argentina in Buenos Aires on 4 June and Uruguay in Montevideo three days later, viewing the matches as a good test ahead of the start of Euro 2016 qualifiers in September.

"You know that we are going to play two tough matches, and you also know that it is an honour for us to be able to play against such teams as Argentina and Uruguay," Katanec told the press.

The team will gather in Brdo pri Kranju on Sunday for a mini training camp before departing for the South American tour. They will play in redesigned jerseys, which will also be worn in qualifying for Euro 2016.
