Euroelection: Turnout Reached Only 8.3% by 11 AM

The 11 AM figure resembles those from the previous two elections to the European Parliament (8.3% in 2004 and 9.24% in 2009).
Turnout was highest (9.22%) in the Kranj election unit and the lowest in Maribor (6.92%).
Public opinion polls projected that turnout would be similar to those in 2004 and 2009, when just over 28.3% of the voters cast their vote in European Parliament elections.
Slovenians can choose their eight MEPs from among 118 candidates at 3,119 polling stations across the country between 7 AM and 7 PM. Citizens can also cast their votes at 32 polling stations at Slovenia's diplomatic missions abroad.
