Wireless Provider Debitel Up for Sale

The Debitel shareholders' meeting held on 26 May, which only featured ACH as more than 70% shareholder, gave the go-ahead for the disclosure of confidential data to prospective buyers.

The Debitel management was authorised to determine the scope of the disclosure, consenting the supervisory board in case of doubt, according to the minutes published on the AJPES public company registry portal.

The sale is to be conducted is several stages, starting with the call for non-binding bids. The bidders would then be given access to data based on which they could form binding bids.

In the final stage, the sellers will select the most favourable bidder and sign a share sale agreement. Potential buyers are said to be chiefly Debitel's rivals.

According to Agency for Communication Networks and Services, other mobile services providers in Slovenia are Telekom Slovenije, Simobil, Tušmobil, T-2, Izimobil and Telemach.

Debitel had a 3.8% market share by the number of active users at the end of 2013, which makes it the fourth biggest player in the market. Its share had decreased from 4.3% in the first quarter of 2012.

The Debitel shareholders' meeting also endorsed ACH's counterproposal for profit distribution under which EUR 352,201 interim dividend paid out in February will be followed by a further EUR 368,080.

The remaining EUR 2.17m of distributable profit will be transferred for use in the coming years as transferred profit.
