Ljubljana to Host Big Charity Concert for Flood Victims

Artists including oom-pah ensembles Gadi and Mladi Dolenjci, veteran pop singer Nuša Derenda, legendary singer songwriter Vlado Kreslin, pop band Kingston and Mambo Kings, rapper Zlatko, rock band Siddharta's front man Tomi M are expected to appear in one of the biggest floods-related fund raisers in Slovenia.

From abroad, Bosnia's pop rock band Crvena Jabuka and folk star Lepa Brena, Croatia's pop stars Severina, Gibonni, Petar Grašo and Danijela, Bosnian hard rock band Divlje jagode and pop rock band Hari Mata Hari have confirmed to perform at the event. All musicians will perform free to contribute to the cause.

Visitors will be able to ride city buses to the venue free of charge, Ljubljana authorities said in a press release. In addition, tow trucks organised by the city and Slovenian Red Cross will be parked along Slovenska cesta street for donations.

So far, Slovenia had sent around 650 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina following the floods, the Slovenian Red Cross said last week.
