"There are more such companies in Slovenia and elsewhere in the region that we keep an eye on and whose products we intend to include in our system to further expand the offering to our customers," Agrokor CEO Ivica Todorić told the press at Friday's signing of the deal in Zagreb, Croatia.

According to him, the deal signed with the sixth biggest banana wholesaler in the world is a result of Agrokor's monitoring of Rastoder, which has attracted the attention of the conglomerate with quality work and products.

"The trial period, in which we examined not only its supply, but also the experience of its customers in other countries, has concluded with an excellent mark," added Todorić, whose Agrokor is in talks to take over Slovenia's biggest grocer Mercator.

According to a press release from the Piardigma PR agency, Rastoder owner Izet Rastoder expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with Agrokor, thanking the Croatian group for recognising its quality.

"Such deals are a result of years of good work," Rastoder said, adding that the expected tie-up between Agrokor and Slovenian retailer Mercator was an excellent opportunity for all Slovenian companies with high-quality products.
