The two events will be organised in cooperation with the 6th international fair of defence, security, protection and rescue SOBRA, which has moved to Maribor after being held in the north-eastern town of Gornja Radgona for five years.

The fair will bring together aircraft and aviation equipment suppliers, skydiving equipment makers, educational programme providers as well as flight operators and aviation service representatives.

Airline companies, aviation schools and airports will present their activities at the fair, offering visitors panoramic flights and an opportunity to talk to pilots in person.

The air show, which will run between 18 and 20 September, will feature performances by a group of acrobatic aviators as well as different aircraft presentations.

The organisers expect to attract between 40,000 to 50,000 people to the event, which will see planes flying in from most parts of Europe, according to Maribor airport head Marko Gros.

Military, civil services, fire safety and police equipment will also be exhibited at the event as part of the SOBRA fair.

While stunning air shows and safety demonstrations will be open to all public, specialised parts of the exhibition will only be intended for professionals.
