Best Of National Geographic
One of the main reasons for reading the National Geographic Magazine - if not THE main reason - were the photos featured in the articles. Pictures from the wildest places, from unusual perspectives or just simpy very beautiful: it is not an exaggeration to say that the photos in the National Geographic Magazine always were among the best photos on this planet.
Last year, the venerable National Geographic Society celebrated its 125th birthday. Nevertheless, the editors managed to choose from this pile of photos to put together an exhibition with the 50 best ones. The photos allow the visitors to get a look at the most far-away and a insight into wildlife as probably never experienced before. And the National Geographic editors didnt also choose the best pictures, but also those, which became iconic: the first shots of the sunken Titanic or Jane Goodall with her chimps.
The exhibition is situated in the "S-Gallery" in the Ljubljana castle. It offers a bunch of exhibitions all year round, temporary ones and also permanent ones, like the "History of Slovenia" exhibit. Guided tours through the exhibit with the curator of the exhibit, Arne Hodalič, will take place on Thursday, 28th August and Friday, 29th August.
