The latest figures published by the Statistics Office on Thursday show that the improvement is mostly due to a 51.9% increase in the value of civil engineering projects. The value of buildings constructed rose by 7.7%.

The jump was obvious in June as well, when the value of construction works in total increased by 28.6% year-on-year.

However, June also brought the second consecutive decrease on a monthly level. In May the drop was 2.6% and in June 0.3%.

Moreover, compared to the 2010 average, the June value of construction works was 23.3% lower, with the decline for buildings construction even standing at 56.1%.
