Maribor Looking to Upset Celtic for Berth in Champions League
Maribor, who have stumbled in the final qualifying round for the UEFA Champions League in the previous two seasons, managed a comeback in the first game at home last week after going down a goal in the sixth minute.
The most successful Slovenian club will need a win or no lower than a 2:2 tie against the Scottish club. This considered possible by domestic analysts, given that Maribor have no injured or penalised players and that the Glasgow team has shown mixed performances in the qualifiers.
"I think we will face strong pressure from the home team at the outset..The Scots will play in front of their fans who want an offensive team, which they will not play for 0:0," Maribor's headcoach Anter Šimundža said upon the team's arrival in Glasgow.
Simundža, a player in the Maribor team which last qualified for the Champions League, added: "We must stay focused and respond with the same level of aggressiveness."
