The NBA stars proved to be too much for Slovenia, who saw the match with the reigning world and Olympic champions as a great opportunity for some final tuning ahead of the first World Cup match with Australia.

The Americans showed why they are the favourites for the title early in the match, taking a 16:7 lead by shutting out the Slovenian attack. Slovenia responded with nice three point shooting to cut the lead of the US to 24:18 at the end of the first quarter.

Slovenia's shooting was somewhat better in the second quarter, with Zoran Dragić hitting two threes in a row to cut the US's lead to 33:45, and even managed to reduce the margin to 11 points by half-time.

The Americans switched a gear higher in the second half, taking a 20-point lead in the 24th minute and pushing the Slovenians even further away with spectacular plays by their front line.

The US cruised until the end of the match, taking a 27-point lead to the fourth quarter, and even increasing the margin to 30 points by the final whistle.
