The final talks regarding the text were conducted before this step while a final agreement on cabinet appointments is expected in the coming days.

When it comes to staffing, the initialled text only contains a distribution of the ministries among the partner parties.

PM-elect Cerar said that appropriate and competent candidates are being sought and that he will probably send a list to parliament next Tuesday.

DeSUS president Karl Erjavec said he was happy with the content of the agreement, which the DeSUS council is to confirm next Tuesday.

SocDems head Dejan Židan also feels that the agreement provides answers to all key issues. The SD conference will already be confirming it today.

The final signing of the coalition agreement is expected next Monday, when the names of the ministerial candidates are also expected to already be known.

The government will have 15 ministers, including a minister without portfolio who will be in charge of Slovenians abroad. In line with the latest agreement, SD would get three ministers, DeSUS four and SMC the remaining eight.

The coalition agreement, which was at first more liberal, in later stages took a turn to the left following the decision of the centre-right New Slovenia (NSi) not to join the coalition.

Among other changes, it first said privatisation would be "managed and strategically analysed" on a case-by-case basis, while the new draft says the process will continue only if privatisation "preserves jobs, creates new jobs and ensures the growth of privatised companies".
