Crazy Weather: New Flooding in Central&Eastern Slovenia
There were no immediate report of damage to property, but the Disaster Relief Administration said it had started to distribute sandbags and water pumps.
The Krka in central Slovenia has been spilling over, as have the Ljubljanica, Poljanska Sora, Savinja and a dozen smaller rivers across the central part of the country.
In the east the mighty Drava has reached warning levels, but the information centre of power plant operator Dravske elektrarne says the river level is expected to start dropping during the day.
The flooding is starting to affect traffic.
There are several road closures on the main road along the Sava around Zidani Most in central Slovenia, along the Dravinja in the east and on many sections of local roads in the east.
