Slovenian Companies Looking for More Opportunities in Russia
The visit, organised by the SPIRIT agency for the promotion of entrepreneurship, investment and tourism, will also include an investment and business forum.
The event is expected to attract representatives of more than a hundred Russian businesses, along with more than 30 officials from 23 Slovenian companies.
An action plan will be penned during the visit to upgrade a memorandum of cooperation with the Yaroslavl region, signed in December 2013 by the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology.
The Slovenian delegation comprises representatives of manufacturing companies, as well as businesses from construction, IT, legal consultancy and tourism industries.
The biggest potential for cooperation is seen in the fields of public infrastructure, telecommunications, ICT, metal and automotive industries, pharma and medical equipment, food industries and tourism.
Slovenian business officials also see opportunities in the high compatibility of the respective wood processing industries as both Slovenia and the Yaroslavl region are rich in forests.
Although one of Russia's smaller regions, Yaroslavl has quite strong industry, especially wood-processing, rubber and automotive sectors and agriculture.
