Jobless Total Down 1.9% in September
The number of people registered as unemployed with the Employment Service have been falling on the month-on-moth comparison since February.
The Employment Service registered 7,934 anew in September, up 42.2% from August and up 0.5% from September 2013. Most of them (3,993) registered because their fixed-term job contracts expired.
Meanwhile, 10,158 were checked out of the unemployment registry; 6,702 of them because they found a job or became self-employed, which marks a rise of 57.5% compared with August and 4.4% more year-on-year.
Unemployment fell in all parts of the country from August, except for the area covered by the Koper branch of the Employment Service (+0.1%).
Year-on-year, growth was only recorded in Murska Sobota (+3.4%), Trbovlje (+3.4%) and Ljubljana (+1.2), with the biggest fall in Nova Gorica (-7.6%) and Kranj (-7.3%).
Over half of the jobless are long-term unemployed (52.6%) and more than a half are women (51.2%).
The Employment Service registered an average of 121,171 jobless since the beginning of the year, 1.4% more than in the first nine months of 2013.
