"Stabilising and supporting Afghanistan in its efforts to take over administration, leadership and the development of the country remain a key political and security assignment of the international community," the government said in a press release after Wednesday's session.

After the last ISAF troops conclude their mission in Afghanistan, an advisory mission entitled Resolute Support will commence as NATO members confirmed at their last summit in Wales.

The new mission will be aimed at training Afghan security forces as well as it will justify the presence of foreign troops in the country.

In accordance with all international resolutions and strategic guidelines Slovenia joins the international efforts for Afghanistan's stabilisation, the government concluded in the press release.
