Tina Maze was the only Slovenian to make it to the second run. Tina Robnik was too slow to make the cut, while Katarina Lavtar was disqualified and Ana Drev did not even make it to the start due to illness.

"I can only say that this was a bad day for me," said Maze, who won two Olympic golds earlier this year. "The track was extremely demanding, the conditions were on the limit. The left turn in the steep part of the track was soft, the right one like concrete."

"I used to be able to direct the anger after a poor first run and change the outcome but I can no longer do that....I cannot always deliver a peak performance....but there will be better days and I no longer worry about it," said the 31-year-old, who intends to take a break after this season.
