Slovenia have been on a roll of late, taking a home win against Switzerland and an away win against Lithuania in October, which came after a 0:1 loss to Estonia on the road in the first qualifying match in early September.

Midfielder Andraž Kirm believes that Slovenia will be a tough opponent for the home team, while adding that the team had a lot of respect for England. "They are the favourites and every point will be as huge as Mt Triglav for us," he said.

Team-mate Jasmin Kurtić added that while Slovenia respects the English, "we are not afraid of them". He is even more optimistic about Slovenia's prospects: "We are going to fight and get a point or more".

The match will see 1,500 Slovenians fans turn up at Wembley. Slovenian President Borut Pahor was also expected to be among them, but he cancelled due to the floods in Slovenia.

"So many fans attending the match is certainly an additional incentive for us. This means a lot to us," Kurtić added.

Milivoje Novaković, Slovenia's top scorer in the qualifiers with three goals, is in great shape and hopes that Slovenia could at least snatch a point from the favoured English.

"Now I have to give it my best and help the team return with a good result," said Novaković, who was cautious about predicting the outcome.

Novaković's role could be even more crucial as Slovenia if midfielder Kevin Kampl is ruled out. A key piece of the attack, Kampl will be a game-time decision after returning to practice on Friday from a calf injury sustained in club play last weekend.

England are the leaders in Group E with three wins from as many matches, followed by Slovenia and Lithuania, who are tied in second place with two wins and a loss each.
