Luka Koper said the sale was in line with the policy of divestment in the field of non-strategic financial investments.

The Railport Arad investment goes back to the period Robert Časar, who served as chairman of port operator Luka Koper from 2005 and 2009 and has been on the run since March, when he was supposed to start serving a six-year prison sentence for abuse of office.

Časar and the remaining members of his management board were tried in 2009 over providing capital increases at logistics companies Railport Arad and Trade Trans Terminal, but the Koper District Court acquitted them of abuse of office charges.
