The ministry says the 19th gathering of Slovenian diplomats will discuss Slovenia's role in the international arena, the role of economic diplomacy and the need for Slovenia to speak with a single voice.

Ambassadors and consuls will be talking with officials from ministries, industrial associations and companies on how Slovenia should make the best use of its diplomatic network abroad.

As is usual the meeting is also aimed at giving the Slovenian diplomats guidelines for the coming period, the Foreign Ministry has said in a press release.

After an opening address by Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec, the meeting will also be addressed by Prime Minister Miro Cerar on the first day of proceedings.

President Borut Pahor is due to address the diplomats on Tuesday and Speaker Milan Brglez on Wednesday.

The final day will be dedicated to topical issues concerning the economy and infrastructure. The meeting will once again be addressed by Minister Erjavec.
