Prevc Ends Third in Four Hills Tournament
Prevc landed at 133 and 134.5 metres today, scoring 271.2 points, just 0.1 points behind tournament winner Stefan Kraft in third.
Kraft had been in the lead since winning the first event in Oberstdorf, ahead of compatriot Michael Hayböck, who bagged his first World Cup win today.
Veteran Noriaki Kasai of Japan placed second to finish the tournament fourth.
"I wasn't thinking about the spot, I just wanted to do two good jumps, which I did so I must be satisfied," Prevc said after the competition.
After poorer jumps in the qualifying and trainings, the 22-year-old took some risk today and he was glad to be able to keep third spot in the overall tournament standings.
Prevc is the third Slovenian jumper to make the podium at the Four Hills Tournament after Primož Peterka and Peter Žonta. Peterka won the tournament in the 1996/97 season.
Prevc also advanced in the overall World Cup standings and is currently third behind Hayböck and Kraft.
