The revenue and profit projections are underpinned by volume growth across all cargo segments, in particular containers, according to a business plan that the company's supervisory board confirmed Friday.

Total transshipment is expected to exceed 20 million tonnes, up from an estimated 18.7 million tonnes in 2014.

The plan hinges on container cargo, a business which will be buoyed by the recently completed dredging of the quayside seabed to a depth of 14 metres, which will allow the docking of much larger container ships.

Accordingly, the bulk of the EUR 46m in investments planned this year will be earmarked for the container terminal.
